Honestly, the monotony of it is what gets me. It's very accurate to the average life we live. Nothing special. Just a normal girl.

This speaks to me. It's annoying enough that trying to get somewhere with your life in this world feels like the exception, and you're lucky if you get enough of a chance to go beyond working some repetitive job. Often now, I find that even the stimulus and escape of the digital world isn't enough on it's own. But even then, without it, I feel like I'd be worse off. Feels like you can't escape it no matter what. Want to make art? You'll have to use the digital medium if anyone is to see it. And good luck trying to get people to see it at all, thanks to the algorithms everything relies on these days. It's all just a game, even when you're trying to have fun. I know people also always say that you should make art for yourself, but that doesn't help you pay the bills. So then, I am just dreading the day I may have to force myself to start doing things I don't enjoy for the small chance that maybe some people, just a few, will see the work I do. I don't enjoy drawing whatever is trendy or chasing for attention, but it looks like that's over on the horizon if I want to give this route a chance because I had to choose an art major before AI was even a thing either :(
Got a bit derailed, but I do really feel what you're saying here. Everything is digital, and as much as I wish we could escape from the "escape," it feels like the alternative is not much better for some of us. Meanwhile, our minds continue to break down from the monotony of the cycle.
Thank you for the comment, I'm very happy I was able to make a piece that has connected with so many people, which is very meta because this is kind of a manifesto on how to do it. Art hurts but as long as you're creating more than you consume you are winning. I wish the best of luck to you on your journey and wish me luck too because lord knows we're both gonna need it.
